Hi there, we’re Jason and Danni, the husband and wife team behind Sleepy Silk. After having studied and worked in the accounting and finance industry, we both left the corporate world to start furniture and homewares store, The Design Edit. With our busy schedules and adventurous lifestyles, we definitely know the importance of getting a good night’s rest. Sleeping on silk has long been known for its incredible properties, with dermatologists and hairdressers boasting about the benefits for years. After having experienced the wonders of sleeping on silk ourselves, we set out to create a range of products that would allow all members of the family to enjoy this luxury, from newborn bub all the way through to granny! With their naturally hydrating, thermal regulating, moisture wicking and hypoallergenic properties (but to name a few), our silk products have become an essential part of our bedtime routine, and we know they will be a staple in yours too!
All Sleepy Silk products are designed by us in Melbourne, Australia and are made from pure 100% Mulberry silk, at the highest grade of 6A, and woven in a charmeuse weave. Many other brands offer a density and weight of 19 – 22 momme, but all of our silk products are made from 25 momme silk for ultimate luxury and durability.
Our silk products have been tested and certified under OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 to be non-toxic and free from harmful dyes and chemicals. Rather than adhere to OEKO-TEX®'s Product Class II requirements like many other brands on the market, our silk bedding meets Product Class I requirements, being the most stringent class, and certified to be suitable for babies and toddlers. Sleepy Silk products are pure and gentle enough to be safe for even the most sensitive skin.
